Runners Club

running-clip-art-16Runners Club is held every Tuesday and Thursday morning (weather permitting), between 8:15 – 8:45 am. Everyone is welcome to participate, including parents, grandparents and siblings. You can walk or jog and set your own personal goals if you wish. Students will be rewarded for their efforts with many milestone certificates (5km, 10km, 20km, ....) given throughout the year. Those who reach 100km, 200km and 300km will receive a medal for their achievements.

For the past couple of years we have been mapping our combined distance travelled on the map in the BER building. In 2012 the children ran an impressive 13,175 laps of the oval running track which equals 3,689 km, the distance from Somers to Cairns, via Canberra. In 2013 the children ran an even greater distance of 3,763 km or 13,440 laps of the oval, the distance from Somers to Margaret River in WA. This year we are aiming to travel from Darwin in the Northern Territory, all the way home to Somers – a distance of over 3,830 km! You can follow our progress on the map.

We look forward to seeing you at Runners Club!
